Abstract

Prophet Moses (PBUH)—a widely discussed character of Urdu literature—has been presented in a new light in Iqbal’s poetry to unveil some new demonisms of his character. He has been the great admirer of the Prophet’s faith, knowledge, preciosity and courage. Iqbal is against tyranny and subjugation and he encourages the Muslim nations to break the chains of enslavement and raise their voices against tyranny and subjugation as the Prophet did. The present article revisits and attempts to offer a detailed analysis of these subjects in the poetry of Iqbal.
